Visiting Speakers

Collaborating with local groups such as the Royal British Legion, Royal National Lifeboat Institution, and the Parish Council, we host several events with invited speakers to talk about and discuss a wide range of contemporary, historical, and environmental topics. Previous talks have included The History of Westland, Secret Spitfires, Grandma Flew Spitfires, and The Battle of Kohima.

Speaker nights are a great way to catch up with friends, meet people with similar interests, and have an enjoyable evening together with other people living in South West Wiltshire.

A complimentary drink and light snacks are included in the ticket price of £10 per person. There will also be a licensed bar for wines, beers and non-alcoholic refreshments.

The schedule for the evening is typically:

Doors Open / Refreshments: 6.30pm – 7.00pm
Speaker Presentation: 7.00pm – 7.45pm
Questions and Open Discussion: 7.45pm – 8.30pm
Refreshments / Raffle: 8.30pm – 9.00pm

We can accommodate individuals, and groups of 4 and 6 seated at tables, at the hall. If you would like to sit together then please book as a group. If  you are an individual or couple, we will match you up with others to form a group where possible.

Unfortunately, some speaker evenings may be subject to change, due to circumstances beyond our control, and we appreciate your understanding.
